Right now I’m using the premium Headway Theme for my website. Here’s why.
As I was thinking about a design for this website, I began to study a lot of free WordPress themes out there. I downloaded many of them, installed them on my blog to test them out, removed them because they didn’t look good, and started this cycle from scratch again.
I then also quickly thought about buying a premium WordPress theme, but always this thought came to my mind:
“Bah, there are so many free themes out there, why should I pay for a premium theme?”
I thought that for a rather long time. But here’s the thing: You can spend hours and hours trying to fiddle with your free theme (like I did!), or you can set up a premium theme and start producing content.
I stumbled upon Headway and I remember that I liked the clean design of their website. I like good design, that’s one of my other backgrounds.
Why I like the Headway Theme
Because it’s easy to get a professional look in minutes.
I got some comments on this site (that is using the Headway theme) that it looks beautiful. The interesting thing is that it took me just a few minutes to set this design up.
They have a wizard when you are setting it up, and it takes you through all the first steps.
The really good part is that it picks the colours of your design from your header image. That way you don’t have to think about the right colours, they will be already there. You just need an image that you like and can use for your site, and you’re ready to go.
As I already said, before I used a free WordPress theme, and I spent days trying to make this free theme look professional, but it didn’t really work out. I think there were ways you could make it look good with that theme, but somehow I didn’t find them, even after days of looking around and trying out new configurations. It was frustrating.
Maybe you often launch websites, then it’s very easy to use the same theme but make it look totally different in just a few minutes.
Design with Drag and Drop
And a really awesome feature is the visual editor. You can create unique layouts for your site without touching a line of code. For example, you can easily change to have one, two, or three columns of content. You can also resize the design. You even can customize every page you have.
It’s probably possible to design almost every layout you want with little knowledge about the underlying code. And if you know some code, you still will be faster with the visual editor.
SEO Optimization
Headway is SEO optimized, but you can also use the All In One SEO Pack plugin. If you want to use the built in features, Headway will use all the existing data from the All In One SEO Pack plugin, so you don’t have to enter the info again.
Easy Hooks
Do you need to place an Google Adsense code somewhere? Then you just choose the location from a menu, insert it there and the code will show up at this place.
They call this system the easy hooks. You can also use it to insert links where you want.
I haven’t really dugged into all the other possibilities, there are more things you can do with it, but the things I already know are really useful to me.
Now, there is still a learning curve to use all of the (advanced) features, but I think it’s one of those you can learn fairly easy.
They have a 30-day money back guarantee, so you can test it on your website and see how it works out for you, and you can also use it on two websites you have. If you don’t like it, just request your money back, and I’m sure they’ll give it to you.
So, if you want a professional looking theme that’s easy to set up, I highly recommend the Headway Theme.

Thank you Sanjay! It’s my first review, so I don’t really know how this works, but I’m using the theme myself and I like it, so I thought somebody could find it useful.
Hey Peter,
I prefer Premium themes, too. I want my websites to look nice.
Good job!
