Good Enough is Really Good Enough

This is my first blog post. And I have to admit something:

I have a big fear – the fear of starting this website and this blog. What do I have to say to the world? Who am I to tell my stories and write about my thoughts? Me? Really?

English isn’t even my first language. It’s crazy to write a blog in another language!!! Very crazy. I must be mad! And now that I think of it… (just kidding). ๐Ÿ™‚

The truth is, it would be even crazy for me to start a blog in German, my native language.

But, the thing is – do you understand what I’m trying to say? I hope and even think you do. Even if I make lots of mistakes (*cough* grammar *cough*) I think you’re still able to grasp a lot of my concepts. Because my ability to write and speak in English is good enough.

(And, by the way, it’s remarkable that it’s this way, because my English teacher in school really liked to talk a lot about all kinds of things. That sounds not too bad, but he talked in German, not in English. And so, instead of learning proper English, we learned about such interesting topics like how to do farming and how the post office system works.)

Sure, it would be better if I were perfect in it. And I’m going to continue to get better with my skills. But the only way to get better is sometimes to try and see what happens. To take some action, and then present it, when it is good enough.

See, I didn’t even think today about publishing a blog entry. I had a draft of this page sitting on my server for weeks. And it’s kinda funny, because the topic of this blog entry is about writing to be good enough. And I still procrastinated! Well, we can change that.

So, to my readers, a nice hello! Welcome, and if you want to connect with me, feel free to leave a comment or write to me via my contact page. I don’t bite, and if I do, it’s probably justified. Well, the truth is I really never do bite, I’m one of the good guys. ๐Ÿ™‚

What projects can you start today when you would not make them perfectly? What healing process could you start today? What personal development process could you do? Do you have intimidating projects that scare you?

Start small. You can be perfectly human, Peter/dear reader, it’s just a first draft.

Oops, now it’s really published. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hi Debby! Thank you for the nice comment.

Good luck with your business, too! I visited your site, and you already have lots of stuff there, so I better start writing more content, because you’re way ahead! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Awesome. Keep it up Peter, you’re made for this. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I struggle with perfectionism sometimes, trying to be the best at everything, and doing everything really well, and I think that sometimes you just have to admit that you don’t know everything and that you need to take things one step at a time.

Good enough is good enough, as you say. Good article.
